This 8-week progressive plan is designed to enhance endurance, build power, and prepare for your next event.
Weeks
1 thru 3 – Establish Baseline and Build Aerobic Base – FTP testing, long steady rides, strength work.
4 thru 5 – Power and Threshold Training – Sprint drills, climbing simulation, high-intensity efforts.
6 thru 8 – Event-Specific and Endurance Training – Simulate outdoor rides, refine pacing, and build race-day confidence.
🚴 Cadence and Outdoor Riding Insights
High Cadence (100-120 RPM) – Improves neuromuscular coordination and group riding efficiency.
Mid Cadence (85-95 RPM) – Ideal for endurance and power output over long distances.
Low Cadence (60-75 RPM) – Builds strength for climbing and wind resistance.
